Teri Bennett leads sales for Accenture’s North America Pension Practice. Teri is an IT executive with 37 years of government experience, 14 of which were spent in the public pension arena. Over the course of her public sector career, Teri has built organizations, developed business and technology strategies, led major business transformations, and managed many large, complex IT projects. She is particularly skilled in large system planning, acquisition and management including contract negotiation, contract management and vendor management. She has a track record of working with teams to deliver high-quality products and services. Teri is an advisor to many of Accenture’s pension clients across North America, and is passionate about innovation. Prior to joining Accenture, Teri served as the CIO at CalPERS, the fifth largest pension fund in the world. There she was responsible for setting IT strategic direction; recommending IT policy for CalPERS programs, operations and services; overseeing a Tier 3 data center; and providing consultation and advice to CalPERS Board of Administration and other external entities. As CIO, Teri also led CalPERS’ $500M business transformation/ legacy modernization effort, replacing more than 70 legacy systems. Teri has also served as an executive advisor to a number of private California-based firms doing business strategy and development.
